Private Client Associate (0-3 years)

Our client is seeking a talented Associate Attorney to join its growing Private Client practice in St. Louis. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent law school graduate or junior attorney looking to build a sophisticated trusts and estates practice alongside experienced practitioners serving high‑net‑worth individuals, families, family‑owned businesses, and charitable organizations. Key Responsibilities Estate planning and wealth transfer strategies Trust and estate administration Gift, estate, and fiduciary income tax planning Charitable giving and philanthropic planning Family business succession planning Drafting estate planning documents and related legal research Developing long‑term client relationships and providing exceptional client service Qualifications J.D. from an accredited law school 0–2 years of legal experience Strong interest in estate planning, trusts and estates, private wealth, and tax planning Excellent analytical, research, writing, and communication skills Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize workload, and work effectively both independently and collaboratively Strong academic credentials Preferred Qualifications Coursework in Estate & Gift Taxation, Generation‑Skipping Transfer (GST) Tax, Trusts & Estates, and/or Income Taxation Exposure to estate planning, trust administration, wealth transfer planning, or tax‑related matters through internships, clerkships, or prior legal experience Experience with gift, estate, or fiduciary income tax returns is a plus Bar Admission Active Missouri law license preferred Candidates planning to sit for or awaiting results from the Missouri Bar Examination are encouraged to apply Compensation & Benefits The anticipated salary range for this position is $175,000–$205,000, based on graduation year.
