Part-Time Dental Assistant

This role involves providing dental assistance to support comprehensive patient care, including identifying oral anatomy, recognizing dental instruments and procedures, and assisting with restorative, surgical, endodontic, and periodontal treatments. The position requires performing patient education, capturing diagnostic dental images, maintaining dental equipment, and managing electronic dental records. Key duties include assisting with specialty procedures, taking preliminary impressions, fabricating custom trays, and providing coverage across multiple outpatient clinics. The role demands proficiency in infection control, radiographic procedures, and basic emergency response, with advanced knowledge expected at higher grade levels. Qualifications include U.S. citizenship, completion of a CODA-accredited dental assistant program or equivalent experience, certification in radiologic procedures, and proficiency in English. Preferred candidates may hold DANB certification and basic life support certification. Grades range from GS-3 to GS-6, with increasing responsibilities and expertise at higher levels.
