Contract Support Specialist Arlington, VA

XLA is looking for a Contract Support Specialist to support a federal agency in Arlington, VA. This position is an onsite mandatory schedule, Monday‑Friday. Candidates must be local to the Arlington, VA area to be considered. Responsibilities Review Request for Contract packages, solicitations, and contract files. Conduct market research. Review cost/price proposals and/or quotes. Prepare reports, document findings and other supporting documentation. Process orders and contract modifications. Maintain official documentation in files in accordance with the FAR and office procedures. Handle actions related to pre‑ and post‑award. Prepare required correspondence. Update systems as required by the FAR and office procedures. Review documents and provide feedback as necessary. Process Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Privacy Act requests and/or Congressional inquiries. Establish and maintain data for assigned work, including logbooks and automated systems for internal/external reporting. Prepare purchase orders and/or maintain official documentation in files. Oversee retention of records by contractors to meet records review requirements of the Government. Ensure proper storage, handling, and disposal of files. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of experience in contracting and procurement AND a bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of formal education and experience (7 years of directly related experience will substitute for education). Proficient knowledge of Federal Contracting such as FAR and other regulations. Hands‑on experience that demonstrates proficient expertise in one or more functional areas related to contracting and procurement. Experience in establishing and implementing complex U.S. Government acquisition programs and policies. Professional training and certifications (FAC‑C or DAWIA Certification in Contracting strongly preferred). Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong organizational and documentation skills.
