Maintenance Technician

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining small to medium-sized buildings, industrial systems, and equipment. This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function, which is responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

Contract Details

• Position Type: Contract
• Contract Duration: 3 months
• Pay Rate: $21.00$22.00 / Hour (USD)
• Shift / Schedule: MondayFriday, 7:00 AM 3:30 PM, with potential for some on-call work after initial training period
• Conversion Potential: Yes potential to convert to full-time employee (FTE)
• Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and other building systems.
• Conduct routine maintenance inspections, diagnose potential problems, and make repairs.
• Assist with the installation and modification of building equipment and systems.
• Review assigned work orders and partner with available systems to track completion.
• Support energy management by ensuring all building systems are operating efficiently.
• Inspect existing installations for compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
• Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems. Exchange straightforward information in a clear, concise manner.
• Impact team through defined duties, methods, and tasks as described in detail.
• Deliver own output by following defined procedures and processes under close supervision and guidance.
• Facility work only including overhead doors, dock doors, fire life safety (FLS) PMs, overhead lights, minor plumbing, and light carpentry.

Required Skills

• Electrical troubleshooting experience
• Mechanical experience, specifically with overhead doors
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Willingness to learn
• Basic computer skills
• Basic phone app skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work
• Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset

Preferred Skills

• 480-volt experience
• Food safety experience
• Hydraulic experience

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; trade school diploma preferred, or equivalent experience
• In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered

Required Experience

• 12 years of job-related maintenance experience

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• 500,000 sq. feet of production space and warehouse environment
• Candidate must be comfortable working from heights scissor lifts and forklifts
• Client-facing role
• Some independent work; some team-based work depending on safety requirements
• Must be able to walk up and down multiple flights of stairs each day
• Physical requirements include stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more
• Overtime expectations apply
• Background check with drug screen required (CBRE Safety Specific package)
