Department Overview:

Our organization’s Department of Emergency Medicine delivers round-the-clock care to infants, children, and young adults facing urgent and emergency medical, surgical, and traumatic situations, including everything from brain injuries to fractures.

We cater to all patients in the Emergency Department (ED) from birth up to 21 years old. Annually, we attend to 68,000 patients with urgent medical needs, making our ED one of the largest emergency and trauma facilities in New England and the foremost pediatric ED in Massachusetts. We are recognized as a Level I Regional Pediatric Trauma Center and also host the Regional Center for Poison Control and Prevention.

• Engaging in a dynamic environment at a Level 1 Trauma Center, managing patients with trauma-related, surgical, and medical conditions of varying severity and complexity.
• Working 36 hours during night shifts and every other weekend.

• A Bachelor’s degree in nursing is required.

• At least 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in inpatient acute care or emergency medicine is mandatory. Experience in the ED (preferably pediatric) or any acute pediatric setting is highly desirable.
• Collaboration with emergency medicine physicians, nurses, mid-level providers, and administrative personnel is crucial.
• Strong analytical skills to tackle complex issues using clinical, scientific, or technical principles, along with extensive cross-functional knowledge.
• Exceptional communication abilities are essential.

• Must possess a current Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license.
