Mechanical Engineer 4
Duration: 12 months contract with possible extension
Location: Mossville, IL – Onsite role
Summary: Support engineer providing design and detailing for motor and resistor grid designs
Roles and responsibilities:
CAD design and detailing
Teardown follow-up and analysis
Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test tools, engines, machines and other mechanical devices
Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals to determine time and cost feasibility to complete projects
Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and make recommendations to maintenance crew
Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products using tools, equipment or software
Education and experience required:
Bachelor's degree in engineering required
5+ years total engineering experience
3+ years of detailing experience
Master's Degree in engineering will be considered
Technical skills (required):
Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD)
CAD Detailing
Excel computation
Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports
Experience with Teamcenter and Creo
Technical skills (desired):
Previous Caterpillar experience (1E spec's etc)
FEA analysis
EM/Thermal motor analysis
CFD analysis
Rotating component/structural design background
