Clinical Administrator-Director Behavioral Health Center Santa Clara, California Job Summary Plans, organizes, directs, evaluates, and coordinates inpatient‑nursing services within a service line. Collaborates with KFHP/H and the Medical Group staff in developing and executing strategic plans to provide quality care and manage cost‑effective services in alignment with federal, state, and local regulations. Responsible for achieving the strategic vision for nursing in assigned areas of accountability and ensuring the quality of nursing care and services to patients in those areas. Responsibilities Serve as supervisor and role model for the entire clinical team, meeting regularly with staff to monitor the milieu and patient care. Ensure facility compliance with regulations and directives of JCAHO, DMH, DHS, LPS Mental Health laws, and a focus on protecting patient rights. Provide safe, effective, and efficient direct care implementation in accordance with policies, procedures, and standards of care, including non‑violent crisis intervention techniques and psychiatric rehabilitation principles. Collaborate with CNO and medical center management to identify and implement innovative models and best practices emphasizing quality, service improvement, and cost reduction. Direct development and implementation of quality and utilization standards across the continuum of care in partnership with TPMG. Build trust with the nursing team through visibility and coordinate seamless patient transitions across the continuum of care. Establish partnerships with facility leadership groups; ensure a superior patient care experience and a safe environment for patients and staff. Ensure policies, practices, and procedures comply with Health Plan contract, governmental, and accrediting agency requirements. Provide clinical and professional oversight for areas of accountability, including developing department standards for regulatory agencies. Develop services that achieve high customer satisfaction, emphasizing service, quality, and innovation while maintaining regulatory readiness. Manage financial performance; identify and implement strategies to reduce costs and improve quality of care and services. Participate in recruitment and retention plans for nursing resources, ensuring adequate staff numbers to meet patient needs. Mentor nursing managers in leadership development, fiscal staffing, professional development, and outcomes‑based practice. Communicate effectively with community, promoting public relations and marketing services. Basic Qualifications Minimum five (5) years of inpatient psychiatric experience. Minimum five (5) years of progressive management experience. Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Social Work, or other health‑related field. National Provider Identifier required at hire. Current knowledge of mental health law and the Joint Commission Standards of inpatient psychiatric treatment. Skill in supervising professional and paraprofessional staff, including assignments, counseling, and evaluations. Knowledge of state and local regulations and APA standards related to client treatment, patient rights, confidentiality, and ethical issues. Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to lead and manage through influence and change. Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations such as Knox‑Keene Act, Federal HMO Act, Nurse Practice Act, The Joint Commission, and applicable Medicare and Medi‑Cal regulations. Ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment and in a union environment. Proven ability to deliver results for meeting organizational objectives. Preferred Qualifications PhD/Psy.D. in Psychology from an accredited university or professional school strongly preferred. Masters degree with LCSW certification may be considered.
