Certified Nurse Aide Instructor

General Description The Northern Virginia Community College Workforce Division is seeking a Certified Nurse Aide Instructor to teach in all three nurse aide locations (Reston, Woodbridge, and Alexandria). This is an in‑person teaching position; online instruction is not available. Applicants must reside in the DC, VA, or MD DMV area. Duties and Responsibilities Use the State of Virginia Board of Nursing curriculum to prepare nurse aide students for the certification exam. Provide quality instruction, attend assigned classes regularly, submit required records and reports, and adhere to professional ethics in accordance with college policies. Assist the agency or state government during emergencies as needed. Perform any other duties assigned. Qualifications Current, unrestricted Virginia RN or LPN license with multistate licensure privilege. At least one year of direct client care or supervisory experience in geriatric long‑term care within the last five years. One year of experience as a nurse in the previous five years plus at least one year in long‑term care (e.g., nurse aide program, nursing facility, geriatrics, chronic care hospital, or home care). Current Nurse Aide Instructor training certification (can be provided upon successful hire). Experience teaching adult learners from diverse populations. BSN or higher preferred. Other Requirements Operation of a state vehicle, supervision of employees, and required travel are not part of this position.
