Associate Director, Generative AI

Gilead seeks an Associate Director of Generative AI to serve as business product owner for AI-driven solutions across commercial functions. The role involves developing and implementing generative AI prototypes and pilots, ensuring alignment with regulatory and ethical standards, and collaborating cross-functionally to deliver business value. Based in Foster City or Parsippany, this individual contributor position requires expertise in AI governance and pharmaceutical commercial applications.
Responsibilities
- Drive proof-of-concepts and pilot AI solutions as business product owner for commercial functions
- Lead technical feasibility discussions and AI procurement initiatives alongside IT partners
- Support AI governance and technology integration across commercial, legal, and business stakeholder groups
- Coordinate with Enterprise Data Science Council and global affiliates on AI use case development and rollout
- Establish industry best practices in data science and AI with focus on commercial applications
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 10+ years, or Master's with 8+, or PhD with 2+ years experience
- Deep expertise in generative AI product development and data science methodologies
- Proven success deploying Gen AI solutions in commercial settings
- Experience scaling AI products from pilot to production
- Knowledge of AI governance frameworks and responsible AI practices
- Strong cross-functional communication and organizational navigation skills
