Resilience Analyst

Role Description

Make an Impact by Shaping Climate Resilience Investment. Are you passionate about tackling climate change through research, analysis and practical solutions? We're looking for a Resilience Analyst to help shape the future of climate resilience. You'll research what A&R really means for specific sectors, engage with the world’s leading experts, and help to write the criteria that investors and issuers will use globally and in South-East Asia specifically. You will work at the intersection of climate science, policy, and finance, contributing to criteria that are scientifically credible, market-relevant, and practically applicable.

How you'll contribute

• Research & technical analysis:
  • Builds deep sector knowledge by researching climate risks, adaptation challenges, and existing frameworks, with outputs directly shaping investment criteria that unlock capital for resilience.
  • Map existing resilience criteria standards, frameworks, and scientific evidence relevant to priority sectors (e.g. transport, energy, urban infrastructure).
  • Identify the key climate risks and A&R challenges facing each sector at both South-East Asian and global level.
  • Prepare background papers and analytical briefs that form the technical foundation for criteria development.
  • Translate complex scientific and technical content into clear, structured outputs accessible to finance audiences.
• Criteria Development:
  • Works alongside technical consultants and the Resilience Taxonomy Manager, supports the development of Technical Screening Criteria (TSC), thresholds and standards that determine whether an investment qualifies as ‘resilient’.
  • Draft and refine sector-specific criteria aligned with scientific consensus and market needs, based on the guidance of the Technical and Industry Working Groups.
  • Ensure criteria reflect both the technical evidence and the practical realities of implementation at both South-East Asian and global level.
  • Support delivery of at least one full sector criteria development process per year.
  • Liaise with other analysts and closely work with the Resilience Taxonomy Manager in order to ensure the TSC are compatible with the Climate Bonds Criteria development process (timeframe, templates, procedures, internal Team member coordination), design and governance as well promoting interoperability with international best practices.
  • Contribute to issues papers, technical documents, presentation decks and background materials.
• Stakeholder & working group coordination:
  • Identifies, convenes, and coordinates Technical Working Groups (TWGs) and Industry Working Groups (IWGs) that bring together the best minds in each sector.
  • Identify and approach suitable technical consultants, government bodies, academics, NGOs, and industry practitioners for working groups.
  • Organise and support working group meetings: preparing agendas, calendar invites, documents, and presentations.
  • Synthesise and document technical discussions, ensuring expert input is captured and reflected in criteria.
  • Maintain productive relationships with working group members across geographies and sectors.
• Communication & stakeholder engagement:
  • Supports the communications about Climate Bonds's A&R work to a broad audience ranging from technical experts to institutional investors specifically ensuring the value and rigour of the criteria is well understood.
  • Present research and criteria outputs to internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Support the development of webinars, briefings, and discussion pieces on ARIA and sector criteria.
  • Support the development of usability guidance and supporting tools for criteria application.
  • Act as Climate Bonds internal focal point for expertise in assigned sectors.
• Knowledge management & thought leadership:
  • Continuously builds expertise and contributes to Climate Bonds position as a thought leader on A&R finance.
  • Stay current on emerging trends in climate A&R, sustainable finance, and resilience criteria standards.
  • Identify new research, tools, and organisations that can strengthen criteria development.
  • Share insights across teams to embed resilience thinking throughout Climate Bonds work.

Qualifications

• Experience in a collaborative role with key experience in the Adaptation and Resilience.
• Experience working with financial institutions/ government bodies, think tanks, NGOs.
• Strong analytical and research skills.
• Experience working with technical experts or advisory groups.
• Ability to synthesise and explain complex information into structured outputs.
• Strong writing and presentation skills.
• Experience engaging with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong organisational and project management skills.
• Fluency in verbal and written English.
• Proactive communications with external and internal stakeholders.
• Strong interest in A&R, sustainable finance, and taxonomy development.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or Advanced degree in a relevant field (environmental science, urban planning, economics, finance, engineering, or related discipline).
• Familiarity with climate risk assessment methodologies and tools.
• Knowledge of sustainable finance, taxonomies, ESG frameworks, or investment criteria.
• Experience working in emerging markets.
• Familiarity with sustainable finance standards and/or taxonomy.
