Executive Vice Chair, Department of Dermatology

The Department of Dermatology at Mass General Brigham (MGB) is seeking a full-time Executive Vice Chair (EVC) to serve as a senior leader and strategic partner to the Chair. This role represents a unique opportunity to help shape and lead one of the largest and most influential dermatology departments in the world.

MGB Dermatology brings together the combined strengths of Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women's Hospital into a unified, integrated department. The EVC will play a central role in this transformation-helping to define a new model for academic dermatology that advances excellence across patient care, research, education, and innovation.

The EVC serves as a principal thought partner to the Chair and will lead high-priority, MGB-wide initiatives across the department. This role spans strategy, clinical operations, research enterprise development, academic programs, and organizational leadership. While the portfolio will evolve based on departmental priorities, the EVC will anchor key efforts in integration, growth, and program development.

The EVC is expected to:

• Partner closely with the Chair to define and execute departmental strategy

• Lead cross-campus integration efforts and major strategic initiatives

• Represent the department in institutional leadership forums across MGB

• Mentor and support Vice Chairs, Division Chiefs, and faculty leaders

• Drive special projects that advance the department's clinical, research, and academic missions

• Serve in the Chair's stead when needed and as appropriate by academic rank

We seek an outstanding academic dermatologist with a national reputation for excellence and a demonstrated ability to lead within complex organizations. The ideal candidate is not only a distinguished clinician, educator, and/or researcher, but also a proven builder-someone who can operate at scale, navigate complexity, and drive alignment across a diverse enterprise.

Candidates must be board-certified in dermatology and eligible for appointment at Harvard Medical School at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, commensurate with experience and accomplishments. They will be expected to teach HMS learners, including medical students, residents, fellows, and/or HMS faculty.
