HR Generalist
Location: Iowa City, IA

About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join their team on a contract basis. This role will support day-to-day human resources operations while partnering with employees and leadership across a variety of HR functions. The ideal candidate is organized, approachable, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting employee onboarding and offboarding activities
- Assisting with employee relations inquiries and HR policy interpretation
- Managing and maintaining employee records and HR documentation
- Coordinating recruiting activities, interview scheduling, and candidate communications
- Supporting benefits administration and employee programs
- Assisting with compliance initiatives, audits, and reporting
- Partnering with managers on performance management and employee development efforts
- Participating in HR projects, process improvements, and organizational initiatives
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of Human Resources experience
- Experience in employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, and benefits administration
- Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems
Nice to Have
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
- SHRM-CP, PHR, or comparable HR certification
- Experience supporting multiple departments or locations
