Registered Nurse (RN) - PCU

Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit

Schedule: Weekend requirement: Minimum 8 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule (typically Friday/Saturday/Sunday combination) Holiday shifts and charge RN assignments as needed

Assignment Details: Contract Length: 13 weeks Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week

Requirements: License: Active RN license required (Missouri or compact license must be held at time of submission) Experience: 1–2 years in PCU/Med-Surg/Telemetry or equivalent Certifications: BLS, NIHSS required; ACLS preferred EMR: Experience with Epic preferred Unit-specific skills: Dysrhythmia interpretation, telemetry monitoring, sepsis management, wound care, renal failure, GIB, ETOH/SI, COVID care, neuro stepdown care

Roles & Responsibilities: Provide direct patient care to adults and geriatrics in the progressive care unit. Monitor and assess patient conditions, including cardiac and neuro status. Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed. Educate patients and their families on health conditions and post-discharge care. Document all patient care activity accurately in the electronic medical record.

Compliance / Notes: Orientation: 12 hours All documentation is due 2 Fridays prior to start date. Labs must be completed within 48–72 hours of signing. Pre-start EMR modules (approximately 3 hours) and additional modules (10–15 hours total) required prior to start. Infusion pump and glucometer training must be completed by the Sunday prior to start. Local candidates within a 75-mile radius are not accepted.
