Job Title: Outside Sales Representative

Pay Rate: (depending on qualifications and experience)

Hours of Work: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Job Summary:

Build and grow relationships with new and existing customers.
Represent the company in a courteous and professional manner. Expand sales and profitability for the company by being the customer's number one advocate and providing an amazing customer experience.

Required Essential Job Skills/Experience:

1. Quickly builds strong relationships with contacts at all levels across a variety of functions within customer organizations but especially with purchasing decision makers.
2. Develops customer trust and confidence in Alaskan and its representatives.
3. Increases revenue and profit from existing customers by increasing product lines or items sold, and upsells value added services.
4. Keeps customers informed about industry and economic trends and Alaskan's ability to assist customers in adapting to change.
5. Understands the goals and concepts of our business and incorporating these goals to achieve sales profitability targets.
6. Works closely with our inside sales team, operations,credit center, product managers, and other departments within the company.
7. Continuously prospects for new accounts.
8. Creatively negotiates for orders.
9. Manages daily call planning and execution.
10. Expedite and follow up on orders as necessary, to best serve our customers.

1. Minimum of 1-3 years previous sales experience in metals service center industry or similar industrial sales background/industry.
2. Strong business acumen with excellent customer service, with both oral and written communication skills; persuasive negotiation skills.
3. Effective problem-solving/conflict resolution skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
4. Highly motivated with a demonstrated ability to build strong relationships quickly.
5. Keen attention to detail with a strong aptitude for math.
6. A self starter with the ability to work independently and minimal supervision.

Desired Job Skills/Experience:

Bachelor's degree preferred (ideally in marketing, business, or related field of study).
