While specific responsibilities will vary based on location, this candidate will be responsible to assist with the physical asset management of the property and will rotate on call 24/7 for maintenance emergencies with the Chief Engineer. The ability to assist with managing a staff, multi-task and be adaptive to changing responsibilities while keeping a positive attitude are crucial. Strong communication and organizational skills are also key. Membership in the Union is a requirement at this location. The position is located in Evanston, Illinois.ResponsibilitiesWork with Chief Engineer to ensure effective administration of building systems including HVAC, boiler maintenance and more.Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies according to documented proceduresWork in coordination with Chief Engineer and Management with staff, vendors, contractors and residents to promote and sustain the safety, cleanliness and upkeep of the building including regular property walks, work orders and preventative maintenance.Assist Chief Engineer with the keeping of detailed records of facilities maintenance for mechanical systems, pool, and elevators as well as scheduling and managing the maintenance/janitorial staff.Qualifications5+ years' experience in multifamily facilitiesHVAC Certification or corresponding experienceGood customer service skillsProficiency in basic computer operationsGood interpersonal and communication skillsMust be a self-starter and able to multi-taskAbility to work in a fast-paced work environment which may require working holidays, weekends and nights based on needs at site location and in cases of emergencySuccessful completion of the SEIU Local 1 Two-Year Apprenticeship ProgramCompensationThis position follows the CBA rate requirements.It always has been and continues to be Draper and Kramer's policy that employees should be able to enjoy a work environment free from all forms of unlawful employment discrimination.
