Summary:
As a Junior Staff Accountant, you'll support the daily accounting operations across multiple affiliated companies while collaborating with the Accounting Manager, CFO, and accounting team.
Responsibilities include:
- Post and reconcile daily cash receipts.
- Assist with daily check deposits.
- Prepare Accounts Receivable aging reports.
- Track and follow up on outstanding customer payments.
- Compile monthly sales, cost of sales, expenses, and financial reports.
- Prepare and post journal entries.
- Analyze General Ledger accounts and prepare supporting schedules.
- Process monthly showroom commissions.
- Prepare Sales & Use Tax returns.
- Support Accounts Payable functions.
- Assist with intercompany accounting transactions.
- Provide administrative support to the accounting department.
- Assist with incoming phone calls and direct callers as needed.
- Support special projects and additional duties assigned by the Accounting Manager or CFO.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of accounting experience within a manufacturing or distribution environment
- Inventory accounting experience is required
- Experience working with ERP accounting software is required
- Intercompany accounting experience is a strong plus
- Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
- Working knowledge of GAAP
