Ultrasound Technologist - PRN

Responsibilities

• The Ultrasound Technologist performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures, producing images for interpretation by licensed practitioners.
• They evaluate patients, explain procedures, ensure comfort and safety, and obtain necessary medical histories.
• They document findings, recognize cross-sectional anatomy, and may perform vascular scans.
• Additional duties include participating in performance improvement projects, assisting with audits, and mentoring students or new staff.

Qualifications and Skills

• The role requires certification from ARDMS or ARRT, with preferred experience of at least one year.
• Skills include strong communication, critical thinking, independence, and adaptability.
• Proficiency in electronic health record systems (EPIC) and PACS is preferred.
• Qualified candidates should have an associate's degree in ultrasound or related training, with ongoing professional development encouraged.
• Overall, the role emphasizes compassionate patient care, technical expertise, and teamwork to support diagnostic processes.
