Growing together.As a Software Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable full-stack applications using Angular and Java-based REST APIs. In this role, you will build and optimize automated CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, deploy containerized microservices with Docker, and integrate modern AI capabilities including Large Language Models (LLMs) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG). Working within an Agile environment, you will leverage enterprise observability tools and approved AI tools to streamline workflows, troubleshoot complex technical challenges, and drive continuous software delivery.Location: Remote Nationwide You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.Primary ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain full-stack web applications using Angular (v16+) and Java-based RESTful APIsBuild and optimize continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using GitHub ActionsLeverage enterprise-approved AI tools to streamline workflows, automate tasks, and drive continuous improvementDesign, develop, and deploy AI-powered solutions to address complex business challenges with an emphasis on responsible AI useDevelop, manage, and deploy containerized applications using DockerImplement robust unit, integration, and end-to-end automated testing for UI and APIsCollaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to deliver high-quality software solutionsMonitor, diagnose, and resolve application issues using observability tools such as Azure Monitoring, App Insights, Splunk, and DynatraceMaintain code quality, technical documentation, and version control standards using GitHubYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear directions on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field 4+ years of experience as a Full Stack Engineer developing applications with Angular and Java-based REST APIs4+ years of experience constructing and managing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions4+ years of hands-on experience containerizing applications using Docker4+ years of experience implementing automated UI and API testing frameworks4+ years of experience utilizing GitHub for source control management and collaborative code development4+ years of experience delivering software within an Agile development environmentPreferred QualificationsExperience with LLM (Large Language Model) Integration and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architecturesExperience working with relational databases such as MySQL and SQL ServerExperience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure) and event streaming tools (e.g., Apache Kafka)Proficiency with observability and application performance monitoring tools such as Azure Monitoring, App Insights, Splunk, or DynatraceStrong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills*All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy.Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
