Shipping and Receiving LeadReports to: Shipping ManagerPosition Status: HourlyGeneral Purpose of the Job:The Shipping & Receiving Lead is responsible for coordinating and overseeing all outbound and inbound material movement within the facility. This role ensures shipments are completed accurately and on time, materials are received and distributed efficiently, and communication across departments is clear and consistent. The Lead supports daily operations while working hands-on with the team, including forklift operations.ESSENSIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Shipping Responsibilities:Coordinate daily shipments with shipping clerks to ensure accuracy and efficiencyArrange and schedule pickup requests between facilities with internal truck driversEnsure all shipments are processed and fully shipped in the system by the end of each dayOperate a forklift as needed to support loading, staging, and material movementMaintain clear and consistent communication with Customer Service Representatives (CSR) regarding shipment status and issuesEnsure all shipments are completed and shipped according to promised ship datesAssist in resolving shipping delays, discrepancies, or documentation issuesReceiving Responsibilities:Maintain strong communication with the Receiving Clerk to ensure smooth daily operationsEnsure all incoming packages and materials are received in the system by the end of each dayAssist with unloading trucks using a forklift as neededCommunicate effectively with purchasing and other departments regarding incoming materials and issuesRespond promptly to all emails related to receiving discrepancies or concernsEnsure all internal packages are delivered to the correct departments in a timely mannerHelp identify and resolve receiving errors such as shortages, damages, or misrouted itemsQUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:High school diploma or equivalentPrior leadership or coordination experience preferredForklift experience required (certification preferred or ability to obtain)Familiarity with ERP systems for shipping and receiving transactionsStrong communication and organizational skillsAbility to multitask and work in a fast-paced environmentLANGUAGE SKILLS:Bilingual English / Spanish preferred but not required.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:Forklift certification preferred but not required.On-the-job time spent in the following physical activities will be:Amount of TimeNone - Under 1/3 - 1/3 to 2/3 - Over 2/3Stand - xWalk - xSit - XUse hands to finger, handle or feel - XReach with hands and arms - XClim or balance - XTalk or hear - xStoop, kneel, crouch or crawl - XWORK ENVIRONMENT:This job requires exposure to the following environmental conditions:Amount of TimeNone - Under 1/3 - 1/3 to 2/3 - Over 2/3Wet or humid conditions (non-weather) - XWork near moving mechanical parts - XWork in high, precarious places - XFumes or airborne particles - XToxic or caustic chemicals - XOutdoor weather conditions - XExtreme cold (non-weather) - XExtreme heat (non-weather) - XRisk of electrical shock - XWork with explosives - XNOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
