Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Summary:
This Labor and Delivery RN position involves providing specialized nursing care for neonatal and adult patients in a 15-bed unit. The role requires night shifts with a focus on patient safety, communication, and clinical procedures within a postpartum setting.

Responsibilities:

• Administer medications and treatments following facility protocols and patient care plans.
• Monitor and assess patients’ conditions, documenting changes and notifying providers as needed.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure safe and effective patient care and discharge planning.
• Utilize SBAR communication technique to convey patient information accurately.
• Perform special procedures related to labor, delivery, and neonatal care, adhering to standards.
• Maintain compliance with certifications, hospital policies, and safety procedures.

Qualifications:

• Possess ACLS, BLS, NRP certifications; AWHONN certifications preferred or required accordingly.
• Hold a valid MA license with at least 2 years of RN experience in L&D.
• Demonstrate experience with Omnicell medication system and Cerner EMR (preferred but not required).
• Be able to work 4x12 night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
• Show ability to screen and accept first-time or experienced RN candidates.
• Comply with travel and background policies, including timely credential submissions.
