HR Specialist

Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for an HR Specialist for an established nonprofit organization in the public media sector. This is a temporary, hybrid opportunity based in San Francisco, CA, requiring a minimum of three days per week onsite. The organization is seeking a collaborative HR professional to provide immediate project support to its Human Resources team.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The HR Specialist will support a variety of HR initiatives, including open enrollment, benefits communications, performance review coordination, and implementation of a new applicant tracking system. This role will work closely with the HR Manager and broader HR team to keep projects organized and moving forward. The ideal candidate is adaptable, highly organized, communicative, and comfortable balancing multiple priorities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support planning and coordination for the Health and Wellness Fair and Open Enrollment.
• Assist with benefits program changes, employee communications, and closeout activities.
• Support the implementation of Pinpoint, the organization's new applicant tracking system.
• Coordinate performance review communications, timelines, and follow-up with managers and HR.
• Manage multiple HR projects while maintaining accurate, organized, and timely work.
• Partner with the HR team on additional projects and priorities as needs evolve.

QUALIFICATIONS

• HR experience supporting areas such as benefits, HR operations, employee programs, performance management, recruiting, or related projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent organization and attention to detail.
• Ability to successfully manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities.
• Experience with applicant tracking systems; Pinpoint experience is a plus but not required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort learning new systems and technology.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This is a full-time temporary assignment anticipated to last a minimum of four months, working Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM. The position follows a hybrid schedule with a minimum of three days per week onsite in San Francisco, and a laptop will be provided for hybrid work.
