Accounting Assistant (Part Time)

Job Description Location: Union City, CA Work Schedule: Tuesday through Thursday, approximately 3-4 hours per day (10-12 hours/week), Onsite Compensation: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour Position Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Part-Time Accounting Assistant to join our team on a temporary-to-permanent basis. This role offers the opportunity to develop your skills in data entry, billing, and payroll processing within a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will be looking to grow into the position, take on additional responsibilities, and enjoy flexible hours with potential for increased hours over time. Key Responsibilities: Accurately enter driver commission details from QuickBooks into pre‑formatted Excel spreadsheets. Calculate weekly driver commissions for approximately 100 drivers and process their payments. Manage cash receipts, ensuring all transactions are recorded timely and accurately. Assist with billing activities, especially for repeat customers. Support other administrative and accounting duties as needed, with opportunities for growth and increased responsibilities. Required Qualifications: Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in accounting or administrative support. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry. Proficiency in Excel spreadsheets. Experience with QuickBooks is a plus. Comfortable working onsite with a flexible part-time schedule. Motivated to learn, grow, and take on additional responsibilities. Preferred Skills & Experience: Prior experience in a billing or payroll environment. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast‑paced setting.
