Reports to : Business Operations Supervisor Classification : Non-Exempt Salary Range : $25.00-28.00/hour DOE Summary: The Patient Services Representative Floater (PSR-F) – interacts with patients, families, staff, visitors and physicians with the objective of enhancing the experience for those visiting California Protons. PSR-F’s effectively manages the patient interaction in-person or our call center over the phone, which may include identification verification; updating or confirming demographic and insurance information on every patient; ensuring appropriate forms are provided to patients before their appointments. Proactively identifies opportunities to improve the experience of visits by patients, families, staff, volunteers etc. Key Responsibilities: Must greet all patients and guest in a professional caring manner in-person or over the phone. Accurate registration of patients by gathering information and entering all relevant data in system. Must be able to work flexible hours to accommodate facility and patient needs. Verify demographics and update any necessary information in-person or over the phone. Schedule and confirm appointments with patient over the phone. Ensure appropriate forms are filled out correctly and provide assistance as needed. Must be able to work well with nursing, imaging techs, radiation therapist and physicians in-person or over the phone. Must be able to multi task scanning forms, scheduling appointments and answering phone calls. Scheduling follow ups and diagnostic imaging appointments CT/MRI/PET over the phone. Receive calls, respond and route messages and inquiries appropriately. May assist in gathering necessary reports, statistics, and outcomes for the department as needed. Work with a team to complete all tasks. Upload CDs into MIM Obtain and verify insurance eligibility for services provided and document complete information in system accurately. Determine patient’s financial responsibilities as stated by insurance. Prepare payment arrangements forms, including collecting payments from patients and/or family members as needed. Additional duties or tasks as needed and assigned to support the Business Operations team. Requirements Proficiency of computer applications, including: MS Office, Outlook, and Teams Strong organizational skills; innovative, intuitive with ability to identify and solve problems The ability to maintain HIPAA confidentiality at all times Reasoning ability to define problems, collect data and establish facts Excellent communication and customer service skills often with the ability to de-escalate issues Ability to adapt, prioritize and meet deadlines 3-5 Years Customer Service experience and skills Strong Healthcare, call center, patient advocacy experience Basic understanding of insurance plans and guidelines Qualifications/Experience/Education: Minimum one (1) year experience in a front office and/or business medical office position Radiation Oncology experience a plus Ability to manage multiple priorities, patient expectations, and escalate issues to appropriate management Ability to juggle multiple requests and manage working with all departments and differing expectations of staff, Physicians and patients High School graduate or equivalent We offer employees an outstanding benefits package, including competitive salaries, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short and long-term disability, flexible spending, matching 401(k), rich PTO plan, and unique enrichment opportunities.
