Work Shift Day (United States of America) – Fulltime 7a‑7p shift. Job Summary The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caring professionals who ensure that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized high‑quality, safe patient care. The role operates within the Wellstar Shared Governance Model, guided by the Wellstar Professional Practice Model, evidence‑based practice, and research. RN competencies are derived from these models and supported by the Wellstar Values. The RN must be licensed in Georgia, uphold the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act, and adhere to the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics standards set by the American Nurses Association. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions Exemplary Practice and Outcomes Performs the Nursing Process (assessment; diagnosis; identification of outcomes; planning; implementation; evaluation) using evidence‑based practice and analytical/critical thinking to deliver individualized care and coordinate effective partnerships. Provides relationship‑based, patient‑centered care that adapts to population‑specific characteristics and cultural diversity. Partners with patients and significant others using appropriate methods for setting goals (bedside shift report, interdisciplinary rounds, just‑in‑time and planned patient teaching) and keeping goals the focus of the plan of care. Practices current clinical practice standards. Teamwork and Collaboration Coordinates safe, quality patient care and documentation, promoting a respectful, inclusive clinical environment. Demonstrates teamwork and fiscal responsibility, supporting recruitment and retention of all healthcare team members. Participates in performance improvement, research utilization, and shared governance at all levels. Professional Development and Initiative Completes initial and ongoing professional competency assessments and required mandatory education. Serves as a preceptor/mentor for other professional nurses, staff, and students, fostering a qualified future workforce and healthy work environment. Evidence‑Based Practice and Research Promotes evidence‑based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement initiatives, including value analysis for decision making. Upholds all system policies, procedures, clinical competencies, legal, regulatory and accreditation requirements (e.g., TJC Patient Safety Goals). Participates in data collection, poses relevant clinical questions, and consults experts to address practice questions. Resources and Support Plans for the care of patients across the continuum while providing direct patient care. Participates in protocol and procedure development to achieve best practice outcomes (e.g., reducing re‑admission rates). Supports efficient use of human and material resources. Performs other duties as assigned and complies with all Wellstar Health System policies and standards of work. Required Minimum Education Associate’s Degree in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (preferred). Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s) All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated. RN – Registered Nurse (Single State) or RN‑COMPACT – RN (Multi‑state Compact) BLS – Basic Life Support or ARC‑BLS – American Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS‑I – Basic Life Support – Instructor Required Minimum Experience Minimum 2 years of direct patient care nursing experience. Required Minimum Skills Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English. Basic computer skills and the ability to optimize technology for clinical care. Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and customer service skills. Ability to function in a fast‑paced environment and respond to emergencies with decisiveness, composure, and respect.
