About the Position

Obstetrics and Gynecology - OB Hospitalist (Locum Tenens) at Davenport, Iowa • Cover Low and High Risk Obstetric Cases

Rhino Medical is seeking an OB/GYN hospitalist for ongoing locum tenens coverage supporting a Level 3 trauma hospital in Davenport, Iowa. The role includes managing a mix of low and high risk pregnancies, performing obstetric ultrasounds, amniocentesis, deliveries (including VBACs), and gynecologic surgeries, within a modern hospital setting.

This position offers 24-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, with some weekends, no overtime, and an estimated call ratio of around 1:5. Providers will support approximately 65-80 deliveries per month with onsite lab and ultrasound services, and will collaborate with support staff including labor & delivery, postpartum, OR, ER, and 1-2 certified nurse-midwives. The facility is transitioning from Cerner to Epic EMR on 09/26, with training scheduled and invoiced accordingly.

This opportunity is ideal for OB/GYN physicians with experience in both low and high risk pregnancy management, obstetric and gynecologic procedures, and familiarity with Level 3 trauma services. Candidates must hold an active Iowa medical license, DEA registration, and be either Board Certified or Board Eligible in OB/GYN.

Clinical Scope

• Cover low and high risk pregnancies
• OB ultrasounds (Level I/Screening)
• Amniocentesis
• Routine and complicated deliveries, VBACs
• Gynecology surgeries: open and laparoscopic diagnostics/major procedures including tubal ligation, cystectomy, ectopic pregnancy, LOAs
• Obstetric procedures: FHR interpretation, NST/CST/FSE, delivery decision-making

Requirements

• Active Iowa medical license
• DEA registration
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in OB/GYN
• Clinical experience with low and high risk pregnancies
• Obstetric procedures as listed above
