Position Summary

The HVAC Branch Manager is responsible for overseeing all daily operations of the branch, including inside sales, customer service, inventory management, staffing, and administrative functions. This role ensures that the branch operates efficiently, exceeds store performance goals, and achieves both short- and long-term company goals. The Branch Manager leads, motivates, develops the team, manages budgets and resources, monitors performance metrics, and implements company policies and procedures. Additionally, the Branch Manager serves as the primary point of contact for customers, ensures compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and drives business growth through strategic planning, operational excellence, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintains communication with vendors and customers and internal teams to ensure prompt and professional service.
• Grows branch revenue through house accounts and maximizes branch profitability.
• Prioritizes customer needs by delivering high-quality service and engaging with partners, with an emphasis on continuously improving customer experience.
• Develops and monitors budgets, goals, and objectives to maintain excellent profits.
• Review payroll and timecard reports.
• Reviewing petty cash and credit card reports.
• Responsible for cash and check deposits.
• Reviews and approves quotes to customers promptly.
• Communicate daily with Director of Operations, reporting on project information, estimated job completion time, labor hours, and parts or material used.
• Work with team to update customers, build quotes, help procure hard to find parts, and other administrative duties needed to properly run the branch.
• Provides oversight into screening, interviews, and evaluations of personnel to meet workload demands.
• Responsible for staff performance appraisals, reviews, and setting improvement goals for their direct reports per company requirements.
• Observe all applicable health and safety regulations, policies, and established work practices; ensure appropriate employee safety training and compliance is completed.
• Recruit, train, and mentor branch employees while fostering a positive, goal-oriented team culture.
• Collaborate with the sales team to develop and implement strategies that achieve or exceed branch sales targets and profitability goals.
• Translate company-wide goals into branch-level execution by implementing policies, procedures, and strategies effectively.
• Review financial statements, sales reports, and key performance data to measure branch performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Manage inventory control processes to maintain accurate counts, minimize losses, and support branch profitability.

Preferred Skills

• A strong foundation in HVAC systems, including counter sales, inside sales and warehouse management.
• Understanding of HVAC controls, system components, and industry standards
• Experience in managing a profit and loss center and driving business growth is required
• Able to delegate jobs efficiently and handle multiple priorities
• Interpersonal and negotiation skills are valuable for managing client relationships
• Taking initiative and demonstrating responsibility for outcomes while making quick and informed decisions
• Understanding of basic accounting principles, P&L statements, and invoicing
• Excellent skills for interacting with and resolving issues for both dealers and customers
• Microsoft Suite proficiency
• Valid driver's license
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience with Oracle and Salesforce, a plus
• Prior experience with RF scanners, a plus

Education

• Bachelor's degree in management or retail management or equivalent of 4 years of managerial experience
• Experience of 4 years in HVAC preferred

Working Conditions

• This is an in-office position. Most work is done indoors in a temperature-controlled environment, with regular sitting throughout the day. Some work will take place in the warehouse or outdoors, where temperatures may be hot in the summer or cold in the winter. Occasionally, the role may require lifting items up to 50 lbs.
