RRT | Registered Respiratory Therapist - Night Shift

Join a dedicated healthcare team in the Southeastern United States as a Registered Respiratory Therapist working full-time night shifts. This role involves delivering comprehensive respiratory care services, including administering oxygen therapy, managing mechanical ventilation, and responding to respiratory emergencies with professionalism and calmness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer continuous oxygen and bland aerosol therapies following departmental protocols.
• Perform intermittent respiratory therapies and diagnostic procedures.
• Access and administer patient medications in compliance with hospital policies.
• Initiate and maintain mechanical ventilation and document care accurately.
• Provide airway management and assist with emergency resuscitations, including intubations upon approval.
• Assess patient conditions to recommend appropriate respiratory care interventions.
• Operate and monitor respiratory equipment and perform charge therapist duties as needed.
• Maintain accurate charges for services rendered using the BCX system.

Education and Certifications:

• Graduate of a COARC-accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• Licensure by the National Certified Respiratory Care Board (NCRCB).
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Experience and Skills:

• Clinical experience in respiratory care is preferred.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and current respiratory care techniques.
• Ability to remain composed in high-pressure situations and collaborate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Knowledge of psychosocial and physiological development across all age groups to provide tailored care.

Physical Requirements:

• Effective oral communication skills.
• Manual dexterity for equipment operation and assembly.
• Visual acuity and physical stamina to stand or walk for extended periods.
• Capability to move and position patients and transport heavy equipment.
• Potential exposure to blood and other infectious materials.
