Job Title

Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical/Telemetry

Location

Charlottesville, VA | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 36 or 48 hours per week available | Every other weekend, every other holiday

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 12-bed Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit with a 1:4 patient ratio
• Manage and monitor patients with diagnoses including respiratory illnesses, renal illnesses, diabetes, sepsis, cellulitis, infections, heart failure, sickle cell, and cystic fibrosis
• Document and coordinate patient care using Epic electronic health records (experience required)
• Float within scope of practice as needed per facility float policy
• Participate in unit orientation including specialty-specific modules (up to 16 non-billable hours)

Required Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license (pending license accepted; must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
• BLS certification required
• Epic electronic health record experience required
• Nursys verification required at time of submission
• All license actions or hits will be reviewed by facility leadership prior to proceeding
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (locals are not accepted for this unit)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• BSN preferred
• Prior experience in a Medical Surgical or Telemetry setting
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythms
