Position Description: GROUNDSKEEPER
Classification : Non-Exempt Classified Based on Experience, 40 hours a week, 12 month employee
Salary: Approved Classifed Compensation Plan (Education and Experience)
Purpose Statement :To maintain grounds, fields and other outside areas of the District. Principal Duties:
Working Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following
physical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and
balancing; significant stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 10% sitting, 20% walking, and 70% standing. The job is performed under with some temperature extremes and some hazardous conditions. AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER

Purpose Statement :To maintain grounds, fields and other outside areas of the District. Principal Duties:
- Dragging, Cleaning & Maintaining the District retention areas
- Substituting if necessary
- Mows grass, trims trees, operates a weed eater and performs other grounds keeping
- activities.
- Irrigates all sites and maintains/repairs sprinkler systems.
- Assists with spraying by administering herbicides and insecticides
- Assists with fertilization of fields and turf areas
- Inspects playground equipment and fences. Makes minor repairs when required.
- Operates hand tools and other light and heavy equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of grounds keeping practices and techniques.
- Knowledge of general safety rules and techniques.
- Knowledge of tools and equipment used in grounds keeping activities.
- Knowledge of and skill to administer herbicides and insecticides
- Skill in operating hand tools, mowers and other light and heavy equipment.
- Skill in performing basic repair and maintenance techniques and procedures.
- Skill in responding to work orders, troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical failures.
- Skill in communicating orally and in writing.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others.
- Driver Licencse (Required)
- High School Diploma or GED (Preferred)
- 2 years of experience (Recommended)
- Herbicide/Insecticide Spray Licensure (Preferred or obtainable within 6-months of hire)
- Valid Arizona DPS IVP Fingerprint Clearance card
