Plant HR Manager

Job Overview Search Solution Group is seeking a Plant HR Manager on behalf of our client, a growing manufacturing organization with a strong operational footprint. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing all human resources functions within a plant environment, supporting both hourly and salaried employees while partnering closely with site leadership to drive employee engagement, workforce planning, labor relations, and organizational effectiveness. The ideal candidate will bring prior manufacturing and union experience, along with a hands‑on leadership approach and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment. Key Responsibilities Serve as the lead HR partner for plant leadership and operations teams Manage employee relations, performance management, and conflict resolution processes Support labor relations activities, including union interactions and contract administration Oversee recruiting, onboarding, retention, and workforce planning initiatives Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations Partner with leadership to develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and programs Lead employee engagement and culture‑building initiatives across the facility Coordinate training and development programs for plant employees and supervisors Monitor compensation, benefits, and employee records administration Analyze HR metrics and provide recommendations to improve organizational performance Support change management initiatives and organizational growth strategies Requirements Education Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred Experience 5+ years of progressive HR experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment Previous experience supporting unionized workforces strongly preferred Experience in a plant or multi‑site manufacturing setting required Prior leadership or HR management experience preferred Skills Strong employee relations and conflict resolution abilities Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite Certifications PHR, SPHR, SHRM‑CP, or SHRM‑SCP certifications preferred Knowledge Knowledge of labor laws, employment regulations, and HR best practices Understanding of manufacturing operations and workforce dynamics Familiarity with union environments and labor relations processes Key Competencies Leadership and decision-making Relationship building and collaboration Communication and active listening Strategic thinking and problem‑solving Adaptability and resilience Confidentiality and professionalism Conflict management and negotiation Organizational and time management skills Company Details Industry: Manufacturing Location: Lake Charles, Louisiana Equal Opportunity Employer Statement Search Solution Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to fostering an inclusive workplace where diversity is valued and respected.
