Medical Assistant (Credentialed/Certified)The University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria (UICOMP) educates 244 medical students and nearly 300 physician residents annually. This includes Health, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, a Retirement Plan, Paid time Off, and Tuition waivers for employees and dependents.The Medical Assistant (Credentialed/Certified) is responsible for assisting in the daily activities of the clinic operation, performing a variety of clinical and clerical tasks in an outpatient clinical setting. Primary responsibilities include taking vital signs, putting patients in rooms, reviewing Electronic Health Record (EHR) to ensure completeness of medical record and assisting the provider or nurse with treatments.Performs clerical duties such as the following: Keeps patient files, medical records, and laboratory results.Enters data from monitoring systems such as medication refrigerators and other quality or safety data.Assists with Quality Improvement (QI) projects.Minimum QualificationsHigh school graduation or equivalentPossession of a current/valid medical assistant certification by an approved certifying board as defined by the employing institutionPreferred QualificationsPediatrics Experience PreferredTo Apply: For fullest consideration click on the Apply Now button, please fully complete all sections of the online application including adding your full work history with specific details of your duties & responsibilities for each position held.
