As an RN on the Pulmonary team, you will deliver exceptional care throughout the patient care journey, interacting directly with patients and their families and providing healthcare education. This role offers an opportunity to advance your nursing skillset and help ensure a safe and thorough visit as a vital part of the care plan execution. A caregiver in this position works Monday‑Friday from 8:00am – 4:30pm. Responsibilities Provide professional nursing care in an ambulatory setting. Assess health status, complete nursing assessments, perform telephone triage, and establish care plans. Administer medications and treatments. Initiate CPR and other emergency measures. Notify the physician and/or Licensed Independent Provider (LIP) of abnormal findings. Assist with specialized diagnostic procedures, therapeutic procedures and specialized patient care equipment. Develop, evaluate, adapt and document health education and provide it to patients and families. Collaborate with care coordinators to ensure smooth and effective transitions of care. Participate in quality initiatives, process improvements and research activities to improve patient outcomes, patient experience and patient safety. Cover other nursing roles within the department. Travel within the region to support physician clinics and surgical procedures, as needed. Minimum Qualifications Graduate from an accredited school of nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program). Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross. One year of recent experience as an RN. Will consider LPN, Medical Assistant and/or other unlicensed clinical healthcare experience in substitution of RN experience if applicant is a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in an ambulatory setting transferring into an RN role but remaining in the same current ambulatory Cleveland Clinic setting or a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in a clinical role within the same specialty area transferring into an ambulatory area. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN). Experience with pulmonary‑specific workflows and testing. Physical Requirements Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye‑hand coordination. Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range. May require some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids. Light Work – Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Weight lifted may be only a negligible amount. A job should be rated Light Work when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible.
