Registered Nurse Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1.5 years required License: State License or Compact License requiredat time of submission Certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate FHM, BLS, NRP Must-Have: Must have Meditech experience, no exceptions. Description: The role requires a labor and delivery nurse with expertise in managing high-risk deliveries. The nurse will assist with various procedures including amniocentesis and spiral electrode placement. Knowledge and experience in internal/external fetal monitoring and IV medication administration are essential. Responsibilities include labor and delivery management, postpartum care, and neonatal care. Capable of performing sterile speculum exams, non-stress tests (NST), and oxytocin challenge tests (OCT) is required. Experience in assisting with C-sections, forceps, and vacuum deliveries is preferred. The nurse will also engage in education and support for new parents and assist with breastfeeding. Experience with medication management and recognizing abnormal fetal heart rate patterns is essential. The unit typically handles patients in antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum settings. This position requires compliance with set patient care standards and guidelines.
