Material Handler

Portland, OR

Pay: $23.50/hour

We are currently hiring a reliable and hardworking Material Handler to join our team in Portland, OR. In this role, you will be responsible for sorting and organizing scrap metals for recycling and processing, as well as supporting daily material handling operations. This is a physically demanding position that requires working both indoors and outdoors in a fast-paced industrial environment.

• Sort and organize various types of metal for processing and recycling
• Safely handle and move materials throughout the yard and warehouse
• Load and unload trucks with metal products
• Operate in both indoor warehouse and outdoor yard settings (approximately 50/50 split)
• Lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs consistently
• Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment

Essential Skills:

• Comfortable working in a heavy industrial environment
• Ability to perform physically demanding work throughout the shift
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions (rain gear provided)
• Ability to wear required PPE, including:
  • Hard hat
  • Safety glasses
  • High-visibility vest
  • Steel-toe boots
  • Ear protection

Preferred Experience:

• Previous experience in manufacturing, warehouse, general labor, or industrial settings is a plus
• Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply—training is provided for motivated individuals

• Shift: Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• Work is performed in a scrap metal yard and warehouse facility
• Environment can be loud, dirty, and fast-paced due to heavy machinery and equipment
• Combination of indoor and outdoor work (rain or shine)

The pay range for this position is $23.50 - $23.50/hr.
