Responsibilities Ascension Seton is looking for an APRN or PA with Oncology Experience. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to provide medical services to patients at our Infusion and Oncology Clinic located in Austin, TX. The APP in this infusion room role will be responsible for assessing and managing patients as needed who are receiving chemotherapy and biotherapy. APP will collaborate with RNs and MDs to prevent and manage complications as needed, as well as provide chemo education for new patients. Provider will manage all emergent labs and imaging calls for the oncology providers from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. In collaboration with a physician, provide for the expansion of individualized primary healthcare services by diagnosing and treating certain acute or chronic health conditions. Obtain patient history and perform assessment via observation, interview and examination. Order, perform and interpret diagnostic studies. Perform preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and patient care. Provide direct treatment and management of health conditions via referral to other healthcare providers or community resources. Counsel and educate patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources. Document delivery of health care and nursing processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and network nursing policy. Requirements Licensure / Certification / Registration: Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Drug Enforcement Admin credentialed from the Drug Enforcement Administration preferred. Education: Master's degree of Nursing required.
