About the Role

The Company is in search of a Chief Development Officer (CDO) to play a pivotal role in the organization's mission. The CDO will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of comprehensive fundraising strategies to support the musical training and performance opportunities for young string players. This includes major gift solicitation, grant writing, and the cultivation of donor relationships. The successful candidate will work closely with the Executive Director and the senior leadership team to ensure the long-term sustainability of the organization and will be actively involved in strategic decision-making. The ideal CDO for the company will be a dynamic and experienced professional with a proven track record in nonprofit fundraising. A deep passion for the arts, particularly classical music, and a strong understanding of the philanthropic landscape in this sector are essential. The role requires a leader who can inspire and engage with donors, faculty, and the community, and who is committed to the values of musical excellence and individual development. A Bachelor's degree is required, and a Master's degree is preferred, in a relevant field such as arts administration, music, or nonprofit management. The candidate should have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
