Title: Senior Python Developer Codex Experience
Location: Bay Area, CA
Work Model: Hybrid 3 Days Onsite / 2 Days Work From Home Position Summary
STAFFXPERT is seeking a Senior Python Developer with strong Codex experience for a long-term contract opportunity in the Bay Area, California. The ideal candidate will have advanced Python development experience, strong software engineering fundamentals, and hands-on experience working with Codex or AI-assisted development technologies .
Candidates must be currently located in the Bay Area and comfortable working onsite three days per week.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable applications and services using Python .
- Develop clean, efficient, reusable, and production-quality code.
- Leverage Codex/AI-assisted development capabilities to improve development workflows and engineering productivity.
- Participate in application architecture, technical design, code reviews, debugging, and performance optimization.
- Develop APIs, integrations, automation, and backend services as required.
- Troubleshoot complex application and production issues.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, product, architecture, and business teams.
- Follow software engineering best practices for source control, testing, documentation, deployment, and security.
- Participate throughout the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Provide technical guidance and contribute to engineering best practices across the team.
- Strong hands-on Python development experience.
- Senior-level software engineering and application development experience.
- Hands-on experience with Codex or similar AI-assisted software development/code-generation technologies.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, APIs, and software design principles.
- Experience building scalable, maintainable, production-grade applications.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills.
- Experience with modern development tools, Git/source control, CI/CD, and testing frameworks.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment.
Candidates should have completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree from a well-established/accredited institution , preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline .
