Director, Association Actuarial Pricing

Job Classification: Actuarial - Actuarial Director, Association Actuarial Pricing In this role you will collaborate with product, pricing, and underwriting teams to promote new product and pricing initiatives, ensuring continued growth and profitability for Prudential Group Insurance’s Association team. Your responsibilities include developing pricing methods, supporting product development, conducting case‑level pricing analyses, and providing thought leadership on pricing and product strategies for associations, unions, credit unions, and other non‑employer‑based groups. You will work closely with Group Insurance Account Management, Association Sales, Finance and Actuarial, Group Insurance and Individual Life Product, Financial Underwriting, IT, Group Insurance Law, GUL/GVUL Customer Service, Medical Underwriting, and Claims. This position reports to the Vice President & Actuary responsible for Association Actuarial Pricing. The current employee work arrangement for this position is hybrid or virtual and may require your on‑site presence on a recurring basis as determined by business needs. Your manager will provide details about the expected number of on‑site days. What you can expect: Stakeholder in driving premium growth for non‑employer groups and collaborating with key partners across the organization. Submit actuarial memoranda for state filing to qualify non‑employer groups and extend rate filings to new contract forms. Determine updates and complete experience studies for our largest client, developing methodology for other clients as experience is built. Advise management on the impact of Group Insurance assumption updates for association groups. Drive process improvements and technological transformations to enhance efficiency and accuracy across Group Insurance teams. Interpret up to 88 Group Long Term Care rerate state filings and provide technical guidance for annual rate increases. Own the GGY AXIS model for Group Life Insurance. Annually review Group Variable Universal Life prospectus for accuracy and completeness. Provide technical guidance for new product development, including assumption development, reserve and capital requirements, modeling, and pricing. What you’ll need: Professional actuarial designation FSA, FIA, or equivalent (required). 7+ years of experience, including Group Insurance experience with product development, pricing, actuarial and financial projections. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey financial decisions, case‑level experience, profitability metrics, risks, and insights to senior leaders and stakeholders. Collaborative and inclusive team player. Strong external focus and ability to navigate internal teams and processes to deliver objectives. Strong quantitative and analytical skills. Data‑driven mindset with the ability to make decisions informed by reliable data and insights. What we offer you: Prudential includes a salary range of $164,700.00 to $222,700.00 for this role, varying based on location, experience, and skills.
