New and Active Substitutes in Other Districts Provide a valid NJ Substitute Certificate or NJ Teaching Certificate and complete Frontline online application. Complete Criminal History Review with the Office of Student Protection: Provide Documentation of Mantoux test with date and results. Please provide your most recent Mantoux/TB result per guidance from the NJ DOE: "TB testing is not recommended for new employees, student teachers, and contractors of the district with a documented tuberculosis test result, regardless of when this test was done. Repeat TB testing is not required in the absence of a known or suspected exposure to active and infectious TB disease or unless otherwise ordered by a licensed clinician." New Substitutes Complete the Criminal History Review process with the Office of Student Protection: Apply for a substitute teaching credential (initial or renewal) by creating an account in NJEdCert: Follow the directions provided on each screen to complete the application. Once you submit the fee, you will be able to upload your fingerprint clearance directly to your NJEdCert account.
