The successful candidate will become part of an exciting and dynamic structures team and will have opportunities to contribute to large projects throughout North America.Your Key ResponsibilitiesOversee design and preparation of contract documents for new bridges and rehabilitation of existing bridgesPerform load rating analysis of existing bridgesPerform design calculations, drawings, and details for various bridge design projectsMentor and monitor junior structural engineersReview shop drawings produced by fabricators and detailers, calculations performed by other engineers, coordinate with design team, site visits to address site issues and verify existing conditions, and respond to request for informationAssist with the management and administration of projects, including budget tracking, developing staffing requirements, coordinating quality reviews, and assuring compliance with Health, Safety, Security and Environment fundamentalsCoordinate with clients as required to assure projects are delivered on time and on budgetYour Capabilities and CredentialsLicensed Professional Engineer with license in the State of CTProficiency in STAAD, CSI, SAP, AASHTOWare BrR and other structural analysis and design softwareAbility to develop drawings using AutoCAD and Open Bridge Modeler, including conformance to CTDOT Digital Design EnvironmentUnderstanding of design codes and agency standards such as AASHTO, ASCE, AISC and ACI..Strong oral and written communication skillsStrong leadership and team building skills, which are essential to meet the expectations of this challenging positionEducation and ExperienceBachelor’s degree or Equivalent, Graduate Degree highly desired.Minimum 5 years of experience in the structural design and analysis of bridges and other transportation structures.Professional Engineer in Connecticut required Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require some field work depending on project needs.This description is not a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that may be required of the employee and other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or may be changed at any time with or without notice.Why Choose Stantec?We put people first and want to help you make that appointment or the activity that you need to attend. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
