Building Maintenance Supervisor

About the Role Our client is looking for an experienced Building Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance operations for their commercial properties in Randburg. This leadership role involves managing a team of maintenance staff, ensuring all building systems are functioning optimally, and coordinating repair and upkeep schedules. You will be responsible for maintaining a safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing environment for tenants and visitors in Gauteng. Key Responsibilities Supervise and direct the work of maintenance technicians, plumbers, electricians, and groundskeepers. Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for all building systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing. Respond to and oversee emergency repair requests, ensuring minimal disruption. Manage budgets for maintenance and repair projects, controlling costs effectively. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and building code regulations. Conduct regular inspections of properties to identify maintenance needs and potential hazards. Source and manage external contractors for specialized repair or renovation work. Requirements Proven experience in building maintenance management or a supervisory role. Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and structural components. Experience in managing a team and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent understanding of health and safety regulations. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to read blueprints and technical specifications.
