Registered Nurse (RN)

Shift Information

Shift: Days from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM

Start Date: As soon as possible

Unit Information

Type of patients on the unit include:

Myocardial Infarction (MI)
Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
Arrhythmias
Peripheral Vascular Disease (PVD)
Some Medical-Surgical overflow

The department administers various cardiac drips, though it does not utilize nitrates but manages the drips effectively.

Patient Care Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse demonstrates proficiency in assessing patient needs and delivering high-quality nursing care using the nursing process. Responsibilities include:

Conducting thorough assessments of patients and their conditions
Formulating and implementing nursing diagnoses and interventions
Continuously evaluating the effectiveness of treatments
Administering medications and monitoring for any side effects
Documenting patient histories, symptoms, medications, and care provided
Providing education to patients, families, and caregivers
Addressing complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients

Qualifications

Education and Skills:

Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred
One year of experience in a related nursing specialty is preferred

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:

Current BLS certification from AHA
Current ACLS certification from AHA
RN License in the state of employment or a compact state

Work Schedule

The position offers full-time employment with a requirement for every other weekend.

Additional Requirements

Registered Nurses may be required to float to other areas when necessary. It is expected that new hires attend a New Nurse Orientation within the first 30 days of hire, with preceptorship provided by a designated staff member to ensure comprehensive onboarding and competency validation.
