Interdynamics, Inc , a leading behavioral health firm in Hyattsville, MD, seeks a Supported Education and Employment Specialist to join their growing team!

Position Summary

The Supported Education and Employment Specialist (SEES) provides individualized

educational and vocational support services to participants enrolled in the First Episode

Psychosis (FEP) Program. Working as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team, the

SEES assists individuals experiencing first episode psychosis in identifying, obtaining, and

maintaining competitive employment and/or educational opportunities consistent with

their goals, strengths, interests, and recovery plans. The SEES utilizes evidence-based

Supported Employment and Supported Education principles to promote community

integration, recovery, independence, and improved quality of life.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Vocational Services

• Assist participants in identifying vocational interests, skills, strengths, and career goals.

• Provide individualized job development and placement services.

• Develop relationships with employers and community partners to identify employment

opportunities.

• Support participants through all phases of the employment process, including resume

development, job applications, interview preparation, job search activities, and workplace

adjustment and retention.

• Provide ongoing job coaching and follow-along supports as needed.

• Advocate for participants in employment settings when appropriate.

Educational Services

• Assist participants in identifying educational goals and opportunities.

• Support enrollment, re-enrollment, and retention in educational programs.

• Help participants navigate high school completion programs, GED programs, trade

schools, community colleges, universities, and vocational training programs.

• Assist with accommodations, disability services, financial aid, and educational planning.

• Collaborate with schools and educational institutions to support participant success.

Clinical Team Collaboration

• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings.

• Coordinate services with therapists, case managers, psychiatrists, nurses, family

specialists, and peer support staff.

• Contribute to individualized treatment and recovery plans.

• Document services in accordance with agency, state, and program requirements.

Community Outreach and Resource Development

• Establish and maintain partnerships with local employers, educational institutions,

workforce development agencies, and community organizations.

• Identify community resources that support participant recovery and vocational success.

• Conduct outreach activities to increase awareness of FEP services.

Documentation and Compliance

• Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation.

• Maintain participant records and service logs.

• Track employment and educational outcomes.

• Collect and report program performance data as required by funding sources and

regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Rehabilitation Counseling, Human Services,

Education, Vocational Rehabilitation, or a related field required.

• Master's degree preferred.

Experience

• Minimum of two years of experience working with individuals with serious mental illness,

behavioral health conditions, or disabilities preferred.

• Experience providing employment, vocational, educational, rehabilitation, or case

management services preferred.

• Experience working with transition-age youth and young adults preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of recovery-oriented and person-centered practices.

• Understanding of Supported Employment and Supported Education principles.

• Knowledge of community employment and educational resources.

• Ability to build relationships with employers, schools, and community partners.

• Strong organizational, communication, and advocacy skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

• Proficiency with electronic health records and Microsoft Office applications.

Physical Requirements

Ability to travel throughout the community to meet with participants, employers, and

educational institutions. Ability to transport oneself to community-based locations as

required. Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable

accommodation.

Work Environment

This position operates in a combination of office, community, educational, employment, and

telehealth settings. Regular community-based work is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in Individual Placement and Support (IPS), Supported Employment, Supported Education, Coordinated Specialty Care

(CSC), First Episode Psychosis (FEP), or recovery-oriented behavioral health services.
