Job Title: Scheduling Specialist III-Vintage Work Arrangement: Onsite only Location: Houston, TX Salary Range: $47,372 to $55,731 FLSA Status: Nonexempt Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Summary The section of Cardiology is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and procedure scheduler to schedule Cardiology procedures. The position requires patient education and navigation through the patient's journey, including preparing patients for the procedure and scheduling the procedure with Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) & Baylor St. Lukes Medical Center) (BSLMC) EMR. This role will focus on Cardiology procedure scheduling, patient education and navigation, and coordination/communication with the St. Luke’s Vintage Cath Lab for procedure scheduling and related workflows The ideal candidate will work closely with physicians and procedure schedules. The candidate will work Monday - Friday, 8hrs daily. The ideal candidate will be organized, motivated and passionate about providing excellent customer service to outpatients. Job Duties Schedules Cardio procedures in BCM and BSLMC EPIC, assuring that every referred patient will have a procedure date scheduled. Contacts patients for instruction before the procedures and notify patient of date/time/arrival time. Requests additional information from referring physicians. Verifies insurance for new and established patients. Works closely with the cardiology care coordination team to fill the cardiology block. Works on order work queue to select orders and schedule patients. Works closely with MD for any patient special instructions, including procedure locations and clearances prior. Performs cross-checks for procedural or scheduling conflicts to ensure accuracy of exam. Acquires clinical notes as needed prior to exam. Maintains confidentiality of passwords/codes for all information systems and patient information, as observed by supervisor. Verifies and confirms patient identification and patient information including patient precautions and other vital information on all documentation, as observed by supervisor. Communicates in an appropriate manner as outlines in the patient care manual. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Three years of relevant experience. Preferred Qualifications Work Authorization Requirement: This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
