Job Title: CICU RN Profession: RN Specialty: Cardiac Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in specialty. 2 years preferred experience, but 18 months may be considered. License: Registered Nurse (State license or compact license) Certifications: AHA ACLS, AHA BLS, AHA NIH, Red Cross Must-Have: - Associated degree in nursing - Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals - Availability for holidays and every other weekend Description: The Cardiac Intensive Care Unit is an 8-bed high acuity unit. The unit provides complex monitoring and treatment of adult cardiac patients. Patients are received from various areas who require specialized cardiac care. Nurses are expected to exhibit high levels of professional competency. Collaboration with all disciplines of the care team is essential. The focus is on achieving optimal patient outcomes. The team is dedicated to making the patient's experience pleasant and comfortable. A safe and secure environment is a top priority. Preferred certification includes PALS if working in a pediatric unit.
