Schedule Part‑time, Evening/Night shift: 3:00 pm–3:30 am. Unit Summary The Emergency Department at Northwest Hospital sees over 60,000 patients per year and has 49 beds. It treats major and minor illnesses, typically related to cardiac, stroke, and behavioral health. Staff may also care for orthopedic injuries or minor trauma. The rapid care area is designated for minor illnesses. Job Summary Functions under the supervision of the RN in a cooperative effort with the healthcare team to assist in providing a variety of patient‑care related duties. Maintains the standards of nursing care for all patients and implements the policies and procedures of the Emergency Department, Hospital, and Nursing Department. Requirements Entry‑level knowledge; basic employment skills; High School diploma or GED equivalent. Less than one year experience. Basic computer skills; medical terminology; cardiac arrhythmia recognition; orthopedic splinting skills; phlebotomy/medlock insertion skills. CPR certification; cardiac arrhythmia recognition test; Maryland certified nursing assistant license.
