P&C Underwriter

P&C Underwriter Novacore is looking for an experienced P&C Underwriter to join our organization, supporting one of our 20+ specialty programs. Novacore is the newly formed specialty insurance entity created from the April 2025 sale of NSM Insurance Group’s U.S. commercial division. Each team member plays a vital role in that mission. This role is hybrid from one of our many office locations: Conshohocken, PA Home Office; Plano, TX; Oak Brook IL. Responsibilities Build a portfolio of business in alignment with a set budget expectation. Provide leadership in accordance with the company’s vision, mission and values while providing direct supervision, training and guidance to the underwriting department. Maintain and conform to all underwriting guidelines for all company procedures, rate levels and underwriting authorities, domestic and foreign. Participate in strategic discussions regarding expansion into additional states and/or territories. Communicate effectively with the internal and external teams on accountability of goal setting and strategic sales initiatives. Generate a profitable portfolio with a focus on underwriting discipline and annual monthly/yearly premium goals. Protect the core best practices to ensure alignment and execution. Requirements Minimum of 2 years property and casualty underwriting experience with an emphasis on binding authority and brokerage underwriting. Experience in product development, distribution channel discussions/decisions, and territory expansion strongly preferred. Knowledge of additional property and casualty products desired. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. P&C license not required, but highly sought after and eligible for reimbursement if obtained upon hire.
