Lead Fabricator

Lead Fabricator Surestaff is immediately hiring a Lead Fabricator for a client in Carol Stream, IL. The Lead Fabricator is a full-time teammate who can lead and assist team members to meet production goals with a focus on quality and safety, along with training and mentoring co-workers to become better fabricators and welders. Surestaff is invested in their team members! All temp-to-hire employees are offered competitive compensation ($25-30/hr.) as well as a benefits package including health insurance (medical, dental, and vision). Available shift: 1st Shift (7am-3:30pm) M-F Overtime available. Responsibilities of the Lead Fabricator: Fabrication/welding and continual learning of machine designs and components Lead and coordinate fabrication, welding, and component assembly tasks Monitor teammate performance and offer teaching moments Assure quality of manufactured and assembled items Remain on target with operational schedules and company objectives Communicate with peers to maximize workflow efficiencies Maintain a safe working environment free of hazards and equipment concerns Assure teammates are motivated and engaged in their work efforts Required Qualifications of the Lead Fabricator: Minimum of 4 years of fabrication experience with various metals Basic understanding of Microsoft Outlook and Word Can communicate, problem-solve and have strong attention to detail Ability to prepare work plans and fabrication layouts Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints Proficient in welding and fabrication skills Working knowledge of saw, shear, drill press, forklift and overhead crane are all a plus Bilingual applicants encouraged (English + Spanish) About Surestaff At Surestaff, we are dedicated to helping individuals unlock their career potential through meaningful job opportunities.
