We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for a full-time, permanent position with a global plastics manufacturing client.

This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing extrusion machines, as well as supporting production equipment, to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing operations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical and electrical background, experience troubleshooting industrial equipment, and the ability to work collaboratively with production and maintenance teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on plastic extrusion machines and auxiliary equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Diagnose equipment issues involving motors, gearboxes, bearings, heaters, thermocouples, sensors, drives, pumps, and cooling systems.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and production maintenance requests to minimize downtime.
• Inspect machinery, identify potential equipment failures, and recommend corrective actions.
• Assist with extrusion line startups, shutdowns, changeovers, and equipment adjustments as needed.
• Perform equipment repairs, component replacements, and routine maintenance inspections.
• Work with production and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and performance.
• Document completed work, equipment failures, and parts usage in maintenance records or CMMS.
• Maintain a clean and organized maintenance work area.
• Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and machine guarding requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical training or industrial maintenance certification preferred.
• Previous industrial maintenance experience required; plastics extrusion experience strongly preferred.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Working knowledge of motors, gearboxes, bearings, pneumatics, hydraulics, sensors, and industrial equipment controls.
• Ability to read equipment manuals, mechanical drawings, and electrical schematics.
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to workplace safety and equipment reliability.

Day Shift Expectations

• Support planned maintenance, equipment inspections, and scheduled repairs.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with production, engineering, and maintenance leadership.
• Assist with equipment improvements and troubleshooting recurring problems.
• Communicate equipment concerns and outstanding maintenance needs to other shifts.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work around industrial equipment for extended periods. Ability to lift and move maintenance materials within established safety guidelines.

Work Environment
Work takes place in a plastics manufacturing facility with industrial machinery, production noise, and varying temperatures.
