Accountant/Auditor

Job Overview San Bernardino County is recruiting for an Accountant/Auditor who performs a variety of professional accounting and auditing duties. Prepare factual and analytical statements and reports; analyze and evaluate financial records; conduct compliance and operational audits; prepare audit reports with findings and recommendations. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, economics, or another field with at least 30 semester (45 quarter) units of accounting coursework (transcripts required if degree is in another field). Experience: One (1) year of full‑time equivalent professional‑level auditing and/or accounting experience (clerk or bookkeeping experience not qualifying). Designations (preferred): California Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Fraud Examiner, or Certified Information Systems Auditor. Benefits Auditing pay differential of 2.0% above base rate (ATC and HS only). Certified Public Accountant stipend of $750 annually for employees who attain and maintain a valid CPA license. Conditions of Employment Travel: A valid California Class C Driver License is required. Mileage reimbursement and proof of automobile liability insurance must be maintained.
